Fios Expands Consulting Team to Help Corporations Address e-Discovery Infrastructure and Information Governance Requirements

Four New Experts Join Fios' Rapidly Growing e-Discovery Consulting Group

PORTLAND, Ore., December 4, 2007 — Fios® Inc., a leading provider of electronic discovery and litigation readiness services, today announced that it has expanded its Litigation Readiness consulting team to help companies better prepare for discovery demands. The expansion of the company's Discovery Management Services (DMS) consulting group brings added expertise in the areas of information governance and records management, internal change management and team infrastructure, and IT systems assessment and implementation.

"e-Discovery is as much about planning, compliance and information governance as it is about managing litigation," said Sam Panarella, managing director of Fios' DMS consulting group. "Embedding business processes to make e-discovery more predictable and less risky requires knowledge of how the process should be organized, what team members are needed to support the process, and how technology can be leveraged to ensure efficiency and defensibility throughout each phase of discovery. The expansion of our consulting team is a direct reflection of the demands being placed by our clients and the market."

Fios' rapidly-growing DMS consulting group regularly works with corporate counsel, IT and records management teams at Fortune 500 corporations to help them become better prepared to address e-discovery needs across multi-functional teams. The four new consultants in Fios' DMS consulting group include:

  • Eric Sedwick has more than 10 years experience in the legal industry, providing records management, legal consulting and software implementation expertise to dozens of clients nationwide. Sedwick's expertise lies in content and records management systems, developing and providing best practices and compliance management expertise related to Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and similar legal requirements. He holds a J.D. from the University of San Diego Law School.

  • Kathy Murray is a business process consultant with more than 20 years experience in the high technology and legal industry, both in the United States and internationally. Her expertise lies in helping corporations assess, plan and implement change management and infrastructure programs to support service delivery requirements and corporate growth objectives. Her focus areas include business process improvement methodologies specific to e-discovery protocols and helping clients identify infrastructure gaps and building response teams. Prior to joining DMS, Murray spent three years developing the organizational policies and infrastructure to support Fios' rapid growth in the e-discovery market. Murray holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oregon.

  • Dan Krahn brings more than 12 years experience as a business process consultant to Fios' DMS team. His expertise lies in helping companies address the gaps between technical, managerial and client-facing requirements. Prior to joining Fios, Krahn served as a manager at Deloitte Consulting. Krahn is completing final project work for satisfaction of an M.S. degree in Medical Informatics from the Medical College of Wisconsin/MSOE and holds a B.A. in Biology (premedicine) from St. John's University.

  • Nancy Patton has worked for more than a decade in the high-tech industry, helping companies overcome their organizational development challenges. Her focus is on helping organizations develop repeatable processes and frameworks for defensibly and effectively responding to e-discovery by focusing on organizational change management and team facilitation.
