HTML presentation for optimized productivity
Fios Prevail displays HTML renderings of original documents rather than TIFF images or PDF versions, both of which are typically much larger in size and can be slow to download and review over the internet. Fios Prevail displays the entire document, not single pages, with original document formatting. This approach ensures that all pertinent document information is reviewed, preventing inadvertent production of privileged information.
Item metadata is also viewable through the item properties page. If viewing the native document is important to the review team, a copy of the original document can be downloaded on demand to the reviewer's desktop.
Chain-Oriented Review
One of Fios Prevail's unique characteristics is chain-oriented review. The term chain can refer to a single loose file or an e-mail with all associated e-mails and attachments. Items in a chain are displayed to show parent-child relationships. Reviewer can view items rapidly and “bulk” categorize items in a chain, duplicate items or both.
Duplicate Management
Fios Prevail relies on a measured approach to manage item duplicates. A duplicate is an item that is identical to and in the same context as another item in the document collection. Item context can be critical in determining the importance of a specific document. With the Fios Prevail definition of duplicate, the possibility of producing privileged documents to opposing counsel is further reduced.
Robust, effective search capabilities
A variety of comprehensive search options are incorporated into the platform including key word, concept, document type, document date, annotation, redaction and more. Searches may be conducted on single or multiple criteria. Robust search capabilities coupled with chain oriented review help reviewers rapidly identify and categorize responsive documents.
Productivity features and reporting
A number of features are included with the review manager in mind. Online and customized reports provide up-to-the-minute review progress. Individual reviewer productivity can be measured by identifying number of items reviewed and categorized and time logged-on to Fios Prevail, all available on the matter summary page. Item categories and foldering may be customized by the review manager to meet the unique requirements of the specific matter. Tailored foldering can be used to manage reviewer work assignments. Matter-specific workflows can be created to ensure that work product meets expected standards prior to production.
Awards and recognition
Fios Prevail is consistently recognized as one of the leading review platforms in the e-discovery industry. It was nominated as a finalist for best Electronic Data Discovery System in Law Technology News' Technology Awards four years in a row, from 2003-2006, winning the award in 2005. It was also a finalist for Favorite Electronic Discovery Solution in the 2004 TechnoLawyer @ Awards.

Case Study: Early evidence assessment and search term testing lower e-discovery costs
An AmLaw 200 law firm was representing a major entertainment company in an intellectual property dispute with one of its production partners, which was seeking millions in compensatory and punitive damages. Concerned about the scope and costs of electronic discovery, the law firm needed an e-discovery provider that could facilitate the processing, culling, review and production of more than three terabytes of potentially relevant evidence. Compounding matters, the judge had shortened the production deadline to less than five months in the midst of the dispute.

e-Discovery Readiness & Planning
Managing electronic discovery costs is a major concern among litigators - both inside the corporation and at the law firm. It's common knowledge that if you can control the scope of e-discovery, reduced costs will follow. Yet, due to the complex nature of discovery (and the numerous moving parts), limiting scope may seem nearly impossible. This webcast provides real examples of e-discovery war stories and practical advice for controlling the scope and costs of e-discovery.
Case Law / Rules
After more than five years of discussion and public comment, new amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) took effect on December 1, 2006. New language in six Federal Rules—rules 16, 26, 33, 34, 37 and 45—requires attorneys to pay specific attention to electronic discovery issues—or, in the vocabulary of the new rules, "discovery of electronically stored information (ESI)." The exact language of these amended rules has been widely broadcast through lectures, articles and outreac
