Gerald Massey

Gerald Massey
President & Chief Executive Officer

Gerald Massey has more than two decades of experience successfully growing public and private companies, with a specialization in the technology and managed services industries. Since joining Fios in 2003, Gerald has leveraged this expertise to build the company into one of the most well-respected and fastest-growing service providers in the electronic discovery market.

Prior to Fios, Gerald worked with private-equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice to develop one of their portfolio investments, Covansys (NASDAQ: CVNS), into a global technology services company. Initially as senior vice president of global sales and marketing, then later as executive vice president, western region, Gerald was responsible for the company's business in the western half of the US, and he served on the company's executive operating committee. Gerald also spent more than 10 years with EDS (NYSE: EDS), the global information technology services company founded by Ross Perot. He served in a number of executive capacities at EDS, including vice president of commercial services, vice president of state and local government, and finally as vice president of the $3 billion business process management unit. Gerald was also involved in helping the growth of CSX Commercial Services (NYSE: CSX) and Portland-based software company ABC Technologies, Inc., purchased in April 2002 by SAS.

An advocate for growth businesses in the Pacific Northwest, in 2004 Gerald was recognized as a leader in the entrepreneurial community as a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year in both the Ernst & Young and Oregon Entrepreneurs Network programs.

 

Mike Harnish

Mike Harnish
Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Michael Harnish, CPA, CITP, EnCE, CISA, comes to Fios with more than 30 years experience in organizing, managing, architecting and deploying cost-effective, highly productive technology-enabled business solutions. As one of the first recipients of the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA) Pathfinder award and later recognized as the winner of the national award for "Innovative User of Technology," Mike has served in groundbreaking roles, such as the first chairman of the AICPA's Technology Section and as a member of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Futurist Committee.

Prior to joining Fios, he led a technology consulting practice for Plante & Moran, the 11th largest certified public accounting and business advisory firm in the U.S., where, among other things, he formed the firm's computer forensic and electronic discovery practice. Prior to that, he served for more than five years as chief information officer for the law firm of Dickinson Wright LLP. A graduate of Purdue University, Mike has also held executive positions with such companies as CPA2BIZ, the commercial services arm of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA); Lotus Consulting Services; and Crowe Chizek & Company.

Mike holds a B.S. in Industrial Management with a computer Science Technical Option from Purdue University. He also holds numerous professional certifications, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certificate in Data Processing (CDP) and Certified Lotus Professional (CLP).

 

John Hesse

John Hesse
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

John Hesse brings deep financial expertise to Fios, including more than 20 years as a CFO of both public and private companies. He has led numerous public and private financing activities, including initial public offerings (IPOs). Most recently, John served as CFO of Vancouver-based New Edge Networks, building the company from the start-up phase to revenue of more than $130 million. John was involved in all aspects of company's financial and corporate strategy, including capital formation, financial management, mergers and acquisitions, SOX compliance and operations. New Edge was acquired by Earthlink in 2006.

Prior to New Edge Networks, John served in executive positions at Protection One in Dallas, Tex., and Network Security Corporation, where he led the growth and sales of both companies. Hesse began his career as a staff auditor with Peat, Marwick Mitchell and Co. (now KPMG). John holds an M.B.A. and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

 

Prashant Dubey

Prashant Dubey
Senior Vice President, Consulting & Marketing

Over the past 20 years, Prashant Dubey has helped corporations save millions of dollars of operating and capital expenditure, reduce risk and increase revenue. He has served clients throughout North America, Asia and Latin America across numerous industries, such as healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, discrete and process manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, transportation and energy. Prashant has been instrumental in shaping the electronic discovery market. Among many of his accomplishments, he pioneered the development of methodologies for Litigation Readiness, developed a managed services model for managing electronic discovery as an organized business process, and led the development of Fios' discovery response planning service to help clients comply with the amended Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and reduce the risks, costs and time associated with the e-discovery process.

Before joining Fios, Dubey was a senior operating executive for high-growth, IT services and application software companies, including Covansys, ProSight, ABC Technologies and Tripwire. Prior to that, he spent 10 years with Baxter International in roles ranging from cost management and operations improvement consulting for hospitals, primary care providers and operating divisions of Baxter to product line management and international market development.

Prashant is also a frequent speaker and author on electronic discovery issues and co-authored the book "Litigation Readiness: Mastering the Inevitable" in 2004. Prashant holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and an M.B.A. in Strategy and Finance from the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business.

 

Mary Mack

Mary Mack
Corporate Technology Counsel

Whether in response to an inquiry, a second request or class action litigation, Mary Mack brings legal and technical professionals together in a focused manner to determine a successful, cost-effective course of compliance with electronic discovery requests. As Corporate Technology Counsel for Fios, she has more than 20 years experience delivering enterprise-wide electronic discovery, managed services and software projects with legal and IT departments in publicly held companies. Mary is a hands-on strategic advisor to counsel for some of the largest products liability class actions, government investigations and intellectual property disputes. Clients include the largest law firms, pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies in the world.

A member of the Illinois Bar, ACCA and the ABA's Section on Litigation, Mary received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law (1982) and a B.A. from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY. She holds certifications in Computer Forensics and Computer Telephony.

Mary is one of the leading speakers and authors on electronic discovery issues, technology and the law. She is co-author of the popular book, "A Process of Illumination: The Practical Guide to Electronic Discovery," and hosts the blog, "Sound Evidence," featured on DiscoveryResources.org. She's is also regularly featured as an expert in the leading magazines and newspapers, such as The New York Times, Inside Counsel Magazine, Law.com, Chicago Lawyer, Compliance Week and Metropolitan Corporate Counsel Magazine.

 

Rj Smith

Rj Smith
Senior Vice President, Sales

Rj Smith has extensive experience and success building sales organizations focused on IT-enabled services. He brings to Fios more than 25 years experience working with such companies as EDS, Covansys and, most recently, Fujitsu Consulting. As senior vice president at Fujitsu Consulting, Rj managed the acquisition and integration of three companies into Fujitsu and met or exceeded sales targets each year. For Covansys, he built a sales team from scratch and delivered more than $100 million in annual revenue three years in a row.

Additionally, culminating a 14-year tenure at EDS, Rj managed 60 direct reports with annual sales targets of $2 billion in the company's Western region focused Fortune 500 and corporate accounts across 14 states.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from California State University in Fullerton.

 

Brad Gragert

Brad Gragert
Vice President, Operations

Brad Gragert has spent more than 29 years in senior leadership positions in the high technology and IT services industries, with proven success in direct sales, international market development, customer delivery, and alliance and partner development. Prior to being appointed Vice President of Delivery, he helped Fios build and grow its channel programs and sales organization to meet the high-growth needs of the company and e-discovery market. Before joining Fios, Gragert held leadership positions with leading technology and service companies, such as Covansys, ABC Technologies Inc. (now SAS Institute Inc.), Sequent Computer Systems (now IBM), Daisy Systems and Tektronix.

In his current role, Brad is focused on ensuring Fios' discovery management services, from collection through production, are delivered in a timely, defensible and cost-effective manner, leveraging people, process and technology to achieve success for every client. Brad holds an M.B.A. from the University of Portland and a B.A. in International Studies from Portland State University.

 

Sam Panarella

Vice President & Managing Director, Fios Consulting

Sam Panarella has more than 10 years of experience helping public and private companies throughout North America craft solutions to a wide variety of business process, project management and legal challenges. Prior to joining Fios, Sam was a partner at Stoel Rives LLP, one of the largest law firms in the western United States.

As the Vice President and Managing Director of Fios Consulting, Sam helps clients improve their overall electronic discovery practices by proactively assessing the people, processes and technologies currently involved in those practices and creating business process based improvements that reduce cost, shorten cycle time and mitigate business and legal risk.

He holds a J.D., Cum Laude, from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College and a B.A. from the University of Montana.

 

Jeanette Slepian

Jeanette Slepian
Vice President, Marketing

Jeanette Slepian is a senior marketing executive and licensed attorney with broad, multi-national experience, recognized for her dynamic leadership and innovation. She comes to Fios after a successful tenure with SAS Institute, the world's largest, privately-held software company based in North Carolina, where she was the president of BetterManagement.com (formerly an ABC Technologies' company).

Jeanette's breadth of experience includes executive-level tenures with growth and start-up companies, such as 800.com, GetThere.com, Sonesta Hotel Corporation, and Alamo Rent-a-Car. She holds a J.D. from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY, and a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Oregon. Jeanette is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Association for Corporate Growth and the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network. She is also a frequent speaker and presenter.

 

Bonnie Worley

Bonnie Worley
Co-Founder, Corporate Secretary and Administrative Services Manager

As a 20-year entrepreneur, Bonnie Worley is always one to look for a better way. While providing service to a client, she and her business partner recognized a gap that needed to be bridged between technology and litigation requirements. Bonnie established and co-founded Fios, Inc. in 1999 and the company was one of the first to enter that market. She has grown the company from its inception and is an integral part of the executive team at Fios. She serves as the Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and the company's Administrative Services Manager. Bonnie is a member of the Portland Chapter of Women in E-Discovery, and The Association of Executive and Administrative Professionals.

Prior to Fios, Bonnie started and managed several companies and was instrumental in the successful launch of a drug rehabilitation clinic in the Portland area.

Tim Stevens
Chairman

Tim Stevens became a director of the Company in January 2000 and was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors in June 2005. Tim is the President and CEO of Doppelganger, Inc., the next generation social entertainment company offering programmed virtual entertainment for today's youth. In addition, Tim also serves as a private investor, director and special advisor to a number of companies, providing assistance in company formation and growth, strategic and operations planning, capitalization and fund raising strategies, business development and corporate development. From October 2003 to June 2006, Tim served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Borland Software Corporation, a publicly traded provider of application lifecycle solutions and software development tools. From March 2003 to September 2003, he served as interim Chief Executive Officer and then market development advisor for the Company. From June 1997 to March 2003, Tim served in a variety of legal and operating roles for Inktomi Corporation, a publicly traded provider of Internet infrastructure, including General Counsel, Senior Vice President of Business Affairs, General Manager of the Traffic Edge and Enterprise Search business units, and Senior Vice President of Business Development. Previous to Inktomi, Tim was an attorney with Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati where he served as primary outside counsel for more than 30 private and public companies, specifically in the areas of venture capital and corporate financing, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, securities, and intellectual property law.

 

David Eisler
Director

David Eisler has served as a director of the Company since July 2005. Mr. Eisler is a Managing Director at Banyan Capital Partners, a private equity fund headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia. Prior to Banyan, David spent several years in investment banking with Scotia Capital Inc. David has a degree in Engineering from Queen's University, an MBA from the University of British Columbia and is a Professional Engineer. In addition to the Company, David is currently a director of Genoa Healthcare LLC, ISR, Inc., Q'Max Solutions Inc. and the Take a Hike Foundation and is a past director of Bevo Agro Inc. and DTI Dental Technologies Inc.

 

Daniel Gerrity
Director

Daniel Gerrity has served as a director of the Company since June 2006. Mr. Gerrity has broad experience in building, funding and leading technology-oriented companies. He is currently the CEO of Naverus, Inc., a Seattle area aviation technology company he co-founded in 2003. He was a founder of two technology companies and was the President and CEO of publicly-traded Coinstar (NASDAQ:CSTR). He also has experience in private equity, venture capital and consulting to entrepreneurial companies, and was a Lecturer at the University of Washington Graduate School of Business. From Stanford University, Dan earned a BS in Electrical Engineering, an MS in Computer Systems, and an MBA.

Kevin Scott
Director

Kevin Scott has served as a director of the Company since July 2001. Kevin is a partner at the international venture capital firm, 3i. Kevin has over 12 years of experience working with venture capital and high technology businesses. Before joining 3i, Kevin was a partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers' transaction services practice where he advised technology clients throughout the M&A process. Previously, Kevin was involved in the startup of a software company in Boston, Massachusetts. Kevin received a BA in Political Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from Northwestern University.

 

Bill Tenneson
Director

Bill Tenneson is a Managing Director of Digital Partners and past President of Kirlan Venture Capital. Prior to joining Kirlan in June 1999, Bill was Managing Director at FirstCorp Ventures, a venture capital debt and venture leasing firm. During his three-year period at FirstCorp he invested in 35 Pacific Northwest companies including InterNAP Network Services, HomeGrocer.com, TeraBeam Networks, Captura Software, DiscoverMusic.com, Point.com, AdRelevance, and Reflex Communications. Prior to FirstCorp Ventures, Bill was Senior Vice President at the Paul Allen Group, a sister company of Vulcan Ventures. He was also a consultant to The Walter Group, a wireless telecommunications consulting group. In 1986, he founded the West Coast office for Comdisco Ventures in Menlo Park, California. While at Comdisco, he financed over 60 venture-backed companies. In addition to the Company, Bill serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Wavelink Corp. He is Past President of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association.
