About Fios: History

Fios History

Fios (pronounced "fee-os") comes from the Gaelic word for knowledge. Founded and based in Portland, Oregon, Fios has served the legal community for more than a decade. Fios is a pioneer in the electronic discovery industry, and an early advocate for corporate “litigation readiness” approaches to reducing the costs and risks of discovery. Fios’ clients have included many of the nation’s Fortune 100 companies and law firms who serve them, and Fios has been ranked among the top 5 electronic discovery service providers for the past five years by the Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery Survey.

Fios is not only a leading service provider, we are also a thought leader in the industry. Fios is a founding member of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project, launched in 2005 to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery services market. Fios is also a sponsor of The Sedona Conference. Fios supports the dissemination of best practices about electronic discovery to practitioners via webcasts. Since 2004, Fios has delivered free webcasts and seminars on electronic discovery related topics to over 8000 participants.

"Top 5" by Socha-Gelbmann
