This position is a member of the Fios Discovery Center of Excellence (DCOE) and contributes to the knowledge and expertise of the Fios consulting team in the areas of discovery response and readiness services. The Sr. Manager is responsible for researching, developing and enhancing consulting methodologies and innovative client-facing deliverables. In doing so, serves as a key contributor to building new methodologies and service offerings and improving existing methodologies and service offerings that enable our clients to effectuate continuous improvement in how they utilize people, processes, and technologies within their organizations to reduce time, decrease costs, and mitigate risks associated with discovery.
This role is also part of an entrepreneurial team at Fios, building upon our expertise and experience to continue explosive growth in consulting services. As such, the successful applicant is one who thrives in a flexible, evolving and multi-tasking environment and is adept at utilizing his or her industry acumen and strong customer relationship skills in a client-facing role as part of a consulting team.
Responsibilities
- Assist in client engagements across all phases of electronic discovery, including assessing and documenting current client practices as compared to best practice, identifying gaps (impacting time, cost and risk) in those practices, analyzing alternatives, and helping to develop tangible and actionable strategies to fill those gaps to address prioritized needs;
- Help develop, maintain and continuously improve consulting methodologies, tools and client deliverables used by the Fios consulting team to enhance efficient and effective delivery of consulting engagements;
- Serve as a primary resource for current and emerging IT trends, including information technologies utilized by organizations for data storage, content and e-mail management, search and information retrieval, records management, electronic discovery and litigation support, and other IT infrastructure employed in corporate legal and IT departments;
- Research and evaluate applicable technologies for use in capturing, preserving, collecting, and analyzing electronic data for discovery;
- Provide professional, clear, unambiguous, and complete written and verbal communication that ensures that the intended audience receives information appropriately;
- Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge in electronic data, business process and technology issues, communicating via articles, CLE presentations and/or trade shows;
- This position requires 25-40% travel for client-engagement delivery;
- The following is a general breakdown of activities:
- 50% of the time devoted to participating in project teams delivering consulting engagements;
- 30% of the time devoted to developing methodologies and standard deliverables;
- 20% of the time devoted to assisting in researching emerging trends and technologies in IT.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required plus 2 to 4 years experience in electronic discovery consulting, business process consulting, consulting project management, or technology consulting;
- Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas: electronic discovery, litigation support, content management, email archiving, records management, IT system management, or business process integration;
- The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and will be driven to exceed customer and project goals, while contributing to a successful team and dealing with a wide variety of competing demands;
- Advanced written and oral communication, presentation, problem-solving and relationship building skills;
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse spectrum of individuals, including Legal, Records Management and IT staff;
- Software application proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Visio;
- Fierce commitment to exceptional work, client success, and having fun.
